Tina Keng Gallery Gallery in Taipei
Neihu · Contemporary programme
Editorial Profile
Tina Keng Gallery is an established Taipei gallery based in Neihu, with a program rooted in the history of modern and contemporary art from Taiwan, Greater China, and wider Asia. Emerging from the legacy of Lin & Keng Gallery, it has developed a position that connects historical modernism with current artistic production, rather than treating them as separate fields. Its exhibitions often move between painting, ink, lacquer-based work, sculpture, installation, photography, and video, with artists such as Sanyu, Yun Gee, Wang Huaiqing, Su Xiaobai, Yang Mao-Lin, Ava Hsueh, Yuan Hui-Li, Yao Jui-Chung, Sopheap Pich, Peng Wei, and Su Meng-Hung forming part of its wider program. Within contemporary art in Taipei, the gallery occupies a relatively specific role: it frames Taiwanese and Chinese-language art histories through a contemporary curatorial lens.
Recent and past projects, including The Painter’s Muse, Wang Huaiqing: The Art of Play, Peng Wei: Memory Palace, and exhibitions dedicated to Ava Hsueh or Chen Chun-Hao, suggest a program attentive to material research, cultural memory, abstraction, and the reinterpretation of East Asian visual traditions. The gallery’s presence in galleries in Taipei is also reinforced by its international fair activity, including presentations at Art Basel Hong Kong, Art Basel in Basel, Taipei Dangdai, and Frieze Seoul. This combination of local historical depth and international circulation gives it relevance beyond a purely commercial model, positioning it as one of the Taipei galleries most consistently engaged with how regional modernisms can be read within broader contemporary art discourse.
