Galería Casas Riegner Gallery in Bogotá
Quinta Camacho · Contemporary programme
Editorial Profile
Founded by Catalina Casas in Miami in 2001 and relocated to Bogotá in 2005, Casas Riegner occupies a defining position within the contemporary art scene in Bogotá, having shaped much of how Colombian art has been articulated to international audiences over the past two decades. Based in the Quinta Camacho neighborhood and recently expanded with a second space in central Madrid, the gallery sustains a research-driven program organized around a clearly defined curatorial direction, prioritizing conceptual rigor and formal innovation over market trends. Its operations combine the representation of historical figures with the systematic introduction of emerging practices, supported by exchanges with visiting artists and curators that situate Colombian production within wider critical debates.
The program brings together names central to Colombian conceptualism—Beatriz González, Antonio Caro, María Teresa Hincapié, Feliza Bursztyn, Adolfo Bernal, Carlos Rojas—alongside mid-career and emerging artists such as Bernardo Ortiz, Leyla Cárdenas, Luz Lizarazo, Carlos Alfonso, Santiago Díaz Escamilla, Camila Rodríguez Triana and Linda Pongutá. Across painting, drawing, sculpture, installation, performance documentation, textile and time-based media, the practices on view are frequently inflected by questions of memory, political history, language and material transformation, sustaining a continuous dialogue with institutions in Bogotá and museums abroad, including the Museo Reina Sofía, which recently acquired work by Luz Lizarazo. International circulation is reinforced through regular participation in Art Basel, Art Basel Miami Beach, Frieze London, Frieze New York, ARCO Madrid and ARTBO, anchoring its standing among galleries in Bogotá committed to long-term critical positioning.
